El grabado reúne en una visión panorámica cuatro espacios con historias diferentes: a la derecha, la entrada triunfante del conquistador español en una ciudad mítica; a la izquierda, una construcción mediterránea junto a un muro de conchas a contraluz; al centro arriba, una multitud de ángeles en torno al sol, y por último, al centro abajo, grupos de personajes que se disponen en pequeñas anecdotas. El conjunto se puede leer como una síntesis neo-barroca: la superposición y la reunión de contenidos disímiles que configuran una nueva realidad americana.

The engraving brings together, in a panoramic view, four spaces with different stories. On the right, is the triumphant entry of the Spanish conqueror into a mythical city. To the left, a Mediterranean-style building next to a wall of shells can be seen. In the top-centre a multitude of angels cluster around the sun and, finally, in the lower-centre, groups of characters are arranged in small anecdotal episodes. The whole can be read as a neo-baroque synthesis: the superposition and the gathering of dissimilar content that forms a new American reality.
