Es el volcán masculino, lo diurno, lo solar. En la obra de Malcolm Lowry constituye un polo simbólico (en oposición a Iztaccíhuatl) en la diada hombre – mujer, Adán y Eva, la pareja del principio de los tiempos. A la vez, es una reflexión en torno a la montaña, como contorno gráfico y como presencia obscura que se recorta contra el cielo. Las nubes, filigranas realizadas al aguafuerte, contrastan con la materialidad bruta del volcán.

This is the male volcano, the diurnal, the solar. In Malcolm Lowry ‘s work it constitutes a symbolic pole (the opposite of Iztaccíhuatl) in the man-woman pair, Adam and Eve, the couple at the beginning of time. At the same time, there is a reflection around the mountain, a graphical outline and an obscure presence that is cut against the sky. The clouds, watermarks made by etching, contrast with the gross materiality of the volcano.
